LIVE STREAMING CLUB CHAMPS 2021

Parents/Guardians

We all enjoy watching our children participate in the sport they love, but due to the restrictions surrounding COVID-19 protocols, this year parents will be unable to be the lively background noise that we all love at our Club Championships.

For many swimmers, this could be their first Club Championships or even their first ever gala or sporting event, while for quite a few of the older swimmers its their (I’ve lost count) Club Championships but as parents we love it all the same. As a Club, we would love for everyone to be able to watch and cheer on their swimmers and friends.

This week, we have been very fortunate to have a parent come forward and offer to set up and deliver the live streaming of our Club Champs this weekend to enable all parents to see their children swim from the comfort of their living rooms (or the carpark in Penlan, if that was the plan). Its something that Swim Wales and British Swimming do regularly for their National Meets.

The live stream will be streamed directly to the Swansea Aquatics Facebook Page for all parents to watch and will begin streaming once warm up has finished and the first event has gone to marshalling. The cameras will be pointed directly at the pool and score board and will not be panning around the pool deck. We will try to get the best angle that we can with the cameras.

The live stream events have already been created so you can prep your snacks and drinks and be sitting comfortably ready for the start of the action.

The link for the Facebook page is here: www.facebook.com/CityofSwanseaAquatics

If there are any parents who do not wish for their children to be a part of the live stream, please email Kelly.Stokes1982@gmail.com before 5pm Friday evening, so the information needed to ensure the live feed that would show the races your child is participating in can be collated and passed to the team doing the streaming during the event. The live streaming will be paused for the duration of the race and then streaming would then resume at the end of that race. Any requests received after 5pm will not be actioned as there simply wont be enough time.

Just on a side note, this is going to be the first time Swansea Aquatics have attempted to do any live streaming and it is a learning curve so please bear with us in the case of any technical hitches.

So please head over to the facebook page and start the cheering section early, we know the swimmers will just love to see it all! Results will be posted on Meet Mobile.

Lets get this gala season underway at last!
