Due to the very challenging and uncertain times that we are all facing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, many questions are being raised by members of a ‘What if…..’ nature and understandably so.

We would like to reassure you that we do have procedures in place and protocols for swimmers at each of our facilities and our aim is to provide you with as much information as possible in these ever changing times.

As and when new guidance is issued from our NHS, Government or Governing Body, we will look to responsibly follow these guidelines.

We will work closely with NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect (TTP) and will follow all the advice and guidance provided to us in the event of a swimmer testing Positive to Covid-19.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that if you, your swimmer or anyone you live with, begins to display the following symptoms you must all stay at home and follow advice from Public Health Wales:

• A new continuous cough and/or

• A high temperature of 37.5 or above

• A loss of or change in your normal sense of taste or smell.

Swansea Aquatics wishes to make you aware that while you are not obliged to inform the club that your swimmer has or is taking a Covid-19 test, we respectfully ask that you consider informing us, enabling us to prepare for any contact we may need to have with other swimmers or the NHS Wales Track, Trace and Protect Service.

If the club is contacted by this service the Lead Covid-19 Officer will forward swimmer details to them at their request.

Can we respectfully ask that you only send your swimmer to our training sessions if they are well. We appreciate that the Winter months are upon us and minor illnesses will occur, ie the common cold etc.

Please keep your swimmers at home if they are unwell as you normally would.

If you or your swimmer feel unwell and you need medical advice, please phone NHS 111 or visit their website 111.wales.nhs.uk, or call your local GP.

It is important that we all remain vigilant, maintain social distancing of 2m and wear face coverings at all times in and around all of our facilities to prevent the spread of the virus as much as we can.

We hope that the information we’ve provided is reassuring and helpful during what we appreciate can be an anxious time for many.

Should you need to contact the Lead Covid-19 Officer in the instance that your swimmer has tested positive to the Covid-19 virus, or you would like to inform us that your swimmer is in the testing process, please email sa.healthrep@gmail.com.

Stay Vigilant, Stay Safe and Stay Well
